MEDICATION REFILLS:

Medication refills should be called to 302-235-1013 during normal business hours or emailed to [email protected].

Refills will be completed within 48 hours.

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS:

Routine appointments such as well-child checks, annual exams, and sports physicals should be booked in advance.  We generally schedule 2-3 months out for physicals.  These can be booked by calling 302-235-1013 or emailing [email protected].

URGENT MATTERS:  

An urgent matter is one that needs to be addressed within the next few hours.  If you have an urgent issue, please call or text the office at 302-235-1013 during business hours 7:30-3:00 daily and use the after-hours number for calls outside these times.  

Any urgent texts should start with “URGENT”, followed by a brief explanation of what is wrong.  If you do not receive a response within a reasonable amount of time regarding your situation, please CALL THE OFFICE 302-235-1013 during business hours and the after-hours number if later than 3:00.

If you require a same day appointment for a concern, please call the office.  When in doubt, call the office.  (Once you have called, you do not also need to text.)

EMERGENCIES:

For any true emergency, including, but not limited to heart attack, stroke, anaphylactic reason, immediate suicide risk, near drowning, etc. ALWAYS call 911 to receive immediate medical attention and notify our office as soon as it is safe to do so.

AFTER HOURS MATTERS:

Dr. Karnes-Amzibel has her phone near at nearly all times but on occasion she may have family responsibilities or go to an event or service which prevents immediate answering of texts and messages.  Thank you for respecting this.   All after-hours correspondence will be handled in a manner based on the specific need and urgency level. For any matters that may arise outside normal business hours, please follow the above-listed guidelines to help get your communications to the appropriate person during the appropriate time.  If you have any questions, please ask.
